Life during the lock down in Cayman
In the beginning of lock down, it was hectic. I remember people going to the groceries stories buying everything out! The news was crazy as well hearing about the number of people who did from COVID-19. It doesn’t feel so long ago when the lock down occurred with the curfews and regulations that we had to follow.
I tried to make the best of my lock down by staying busy not only with school, but with volunteering with Resilience Cayman. It was a blessing in disguise. Not only did I learn something new about myself and what I am capable of; it provided me with the opportunity to help those who were and are still affected by COVID-19. It made me realize how fortunate and blessed I am to have things I have and where I come from. For example, most of the people did not have jobs and were unable to buy food and other necessities. However, I am happy that I was able to help those people by just one phone call or email. They were and still are so appreciative.
I thank God everyday for the what I have in my life such as my great support system - family and friends.
We should not take life for granted and we must stick together and help one another!
